Howard S. Grossman graduated from the University of Miami, School of Law in May, 1984. Mr. Grossman has been practicing 32 years, having been admitted to the Florida Bar in December, 1984. He is a member of the following United States District Courts: Southern District of Florida (since 1992); Middle District of Florida (since 2007); Southern District of Texas (since 2008); Colorado (since 2010). He is also a member of the following United States Court of Appeals: Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals (since 1998), First Circuit Court of Appeals (since 2014).
Mr. Grossman was Board Certified by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization in Worker’s Compensation from 1992 – 2007. Since 2007, he has been an Emeritus Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law through 2015. He is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been nominated as a “Super Lawyer” from 2006-2010; 2013 through 2016, and 2020. He was President of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association 2007-2008.
Mr. Grossman has appeared as lead counsel throughout the state courts of Florida, the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida, co-counsel in the Southern District of Texas, Rhode Island Superior Court and United States District Court, Rhode Island; admitted pro hac vice in the United States District Court of Hawaii; United States District Court, Southern District of California; pro hac vice Fulton County Superior Court, and dozens of formal hearings before Administrative Law Judges where compensability of injury and/or death, permanency, disability and calculation of average weekly wage have been contested.
Having practiced for 32 years, he has tried all types and matters of cases. Some of which have included litigating against Fortune 500 companies, including Ford Motor Company (a six week products liability case) involving quadriplegia caused by a roof crush; medical malpractice cases involving stroke victims and the failure to administer TPA against the top medical malpractice defense attorneys in the State of Florida; admiralty claims against the largest cruise lines in Federal Court alleging maintenance and cure, general maritime, unseaworthiness, and Jones Act claims. He has also represented numerous passengers in cruise ship and boating accident claims.
